Living A Dream and Praising God: Bong Durana Returns from Harvard

The members of the BOC Movement warmly welcomes back PSSUPT Benigno B. Durana Jr. who has again achieve greatly for God in his career. He has is currently fresh from finishing a Masters Degree in Public Administration at the John F. Kennedy School of Management in Harvard where he just finished his Edward S. Mason Program.

The former Aklan Provincial Police Commander is in full praise of all the people that supported him and the constant prayers of those who have kneeled for the success of his studies and the protection of his family.

This rare distinction is another feather in his cap to go along with his 2010 Dangal ng Bayan and his 2010 Presidential Lingkod Bayan award showing how God’s mercy and grace towards those who believes in Him.

Blessed by Cops: How the Philippine PNP UN Contingent Is Being A Blessing in Liberia

In a country troubled by constant threats of rebellion and civil war- where corruption and mistreatment has hardened the public’s heart-, an ounce of Christian grace and faith could surely inspire a whole nation.

Such was the experience of the UN Philippine Contingent in Liberia when they launched the Adopt A Station program in the Liberian Capital of Monrovia to help their local counterparts.
The city police, which is still enduring lack of funding from the government due to the ill effects of years of civil war, is having a hard time to renovate their stations. They also experienced lack of support from the public particularly in terms of both morale support and equipment.

This is where the PNP Contingent stepped in.

Heeding the wisdom of being “a light towards others so that they could glory to God” (Matthew 5:16), Philippine Contingent Commander PSUPT Roman Dela Cruz and UNMIL Deputy Commissioner PSSUPT Cesar Hawthorne Binag organized the Philippine troops to pool their resources and even some of their rest days to help build a local police station in Monrovia. They also furnished it with the latest equipments and furnishings.

The local response was magnanimous and heartfelt...

 “I thank you very much most specially from our brother from Philippines police officers are here on the peacekeeping mission in Liberia, thank you very for the fine beautiful renovation for the care of the people, and thank you for that indeed the equipment that you give us that will be use for the internal purpose and building for which you people renovated there that will be use for the internal purpose, and hope that God continue that you are here and for other country as you always say as a recipe for the tomorrow and set the same example of  the Philippines, thank you very much,” pahayag ni Samuel  Johnson, Zone 2 Base Commander.

Bless Our Cops Movement and MASCOM Celebrates 2nd Annual Regional Conference.

Bless Our Cops and MASCOM delegates from all over the Davao provinces and the rest of Mindanao, were warmly greeted by graceful swaying of palm trees, the sweet smell of durians and mangosteens  and the fresh scent of the Nabintad river as they celebrated the 2nd annual regional conference at the Davao del Norte Provincial Office last June 29, 2012.

The conference which was organized by MASCOM officials in order to encourage old members to continue to minister to the PNP as well as to persuade other pastors and church leaders to bless the cops.

 

Lead by Ptr Carlito Dadula, Ptr. Edwin Santos, Ptr. Noel Milloren and Bert Diao (who are not only dedicated police ministers but are also renowned broadcasters themselves), almost 100 ministers from different denominations and church affiliations came and communed with each other.

Representing churches that have been a blessing to the police in the provinces of Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Compostela Valley and Davao City, the delegates reported the grace and blessing that the police of the province had received through the churches.

They also reported the blessing that they have received as police ministers.

During the onslaught of Typhoon Pedro which devastated and flattened the Davao provinces some BOC volunteers especially those in Davao Oriental and Compostela Valley were also among those who suffered. Through the grace of God and through the support of some Christian friends from the JOSHUA (Jesus Offers Salvation and Hope for the Armed Forces) ministry affected BOC volunteers in the region was give food, shelter and some financial assistance to help them through the deluge.

The BOC team composed of PSUPT Bernie Banac, Bro Boi Manuel, Bro. Jojo Dellosa and Ptr. Dan Afaung also shared encouragement to the volunteers and convinced them to raise support among their church members to sustain their ministry.

Earlier in the day, the BOC team was invited by Tagum City’s K95FM through its Saturday Morning DJ Ted Cabana who was very supportive of the PNP’s reform effort in the city. PSUPT Banac explained on air of the value of churches in blessing the community as well as having a police which is supported by the PNP.

The group also had a chance to minister towards some MBK brothers lead by former PI Lurobe “Gemboy” Rojo. The former PNPA CCF Cadet-In-Charge who now leads a PNP detachment in the hinterlands of Davao Del Norte was blessed by the visit and was encouraged by familiar faces that has blessed him during his cadet days.

In the end of the day everybody was blessed and encouraged to join other BOC volunteers at the upcoming 3^rd Annual BOC Convention in Tagaytay City this coming December 5-7, 2013.

BOC GenSan: Flaming Up For Christ

"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;”

With a fervor in serving God and a love burning to bringing the gospel to the lost, the pastors and church leaders of General Santos city were aflame to commit to be a blessing to their community, church and their police force.

An ember of grace and a spark of belief was all that was needed to light a flame of revival in the city.

The ember was the Godly environment that General Santos was experiencing. With an incoming Christian Mayor and with the conversion of one influential Manny Pacquiao, churches have been supportive and positive of the changes sweeping their city. This includes a positive view towards government and a blessing attitude towards the police. This was all that was needed by PSI Gus Ferrer, to kindle a movement: a Bless Our Cops movement.

After 6 months being marooned in the hill country of PRO 12 Tambler, General Santos City, Dr. Ferrer finally had a breakthrough to continue to do his missionary work in every police station. With the partnership of mission minded local doctors like Dr. Lorendo Espinosa and his lovely wife Diana (whose Birthday also coincided with the event), Dr. Ferrer was able to gather and organize the pastors to impart to them the vision of Bless Our Cops.

Held last June 27, 2013, at the sprawling premises of the Mindanao Medical Center , 130 pastors, laymen and church workers from different denominations and from the different churches of General Santos City and its nearby towns gathered to the first Bless Our Cops Gensan vision casting.

 After receiving a new perspective of ministering to the police from Bro Boi Manuel and Bro Jojo Dellosa  which was reinforced by the testimonies of PSUPT Bernie Banac and PCI Gus Ferrer, the church represented in the convention wholly committed to renew their ministry to the PNP. So deep was their commitment that 35 pastors have already booked their plane tickets to the coming Bless Our Cops Convention in Tagaytay City. 

Challenged by the prophetic exposition of JOSHUA’s Ptr Dan Afuang the pastors also organized among themselves leaders in their group to plan and execute their ministry strategies towards the PNP. The BOC Gensan agreed the group should be lead by Ptr. Jojo Tan who has already some experience ministering to the PNP.

The convention was ended with a symbolic passing of light ceremony acknowledging that the Vision of the Bless Our Cops Movement has been received by Christians who are ready light up their city for Christ.
