Bless Our Cops and MASCOM delegates from all over the Davao
provinces and the rest of Mindanao, were warmly greeted by graceful swaying of
palm trees, the sweet smell of durians and mangosteens and the fresh scent of the Nabintad river as
they celebrated the 2nd annual regional conference at the Davao del Norte
Provincial Office last June 29, 2012.
The conference which was organized by MASCOM officials in order to
encourage old members to continue to minister to the PNP as well as to persuade
other pastors and church leaders to bless the cops.
Lead by Ptr Carlito Dadula, Ptr. Edwin Santos, Ptr. Noel Milloren
and Bert Diao (who are not only dedicated police ministers but are also
renowned broadcasters themselves), almost 100 ministers from different
denominations and church affiliations came and communed with each other.
Representing churches that have been a blessing to the police in
the provinces of Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Compostela
Valley and Davao City, the delegates reported the grace and blessing that the
police of the province had received through the churches.
They also reported the blessing that they have received as police
ministers.
During the onslaught of Typhoon Pedro which devastated and
flattened the Davao provinces some BOC volunteers especially those in Davao
Oriental and Compostela Valley were also among those who suffered. Through the
grace of God and through the support of some Christian friends from the JOSHUA (Jesus
Offers Salvation and Hope for the Armed Forces) ministry affected BOC
volunteers in the region was give food, shelter and some financial assistance
to help them through the deluge.
The BOC team composed of PSUPT Bernie Banac, Bro Boi Manuel, Bro.
Jojo Dellosa and Ptr. Dan Afaung also shared encouragement to the volunteers
and convinced them to raise support among their church members to sustain their
ministry.
Earlier in the day, the BOC team was invited by Tagum City’s K95FM
through its Saturday Morning DJ Ted Cabana who was very supportive of the PNP’s
reform effort in the city. PSUPT Banac explained on air of the value of
churches in blessing the community as well as having a police which is
supported by the PNP.
The group also had a chance to minister towards some MBK brothers
lead by former PI Lurobe “Gemboy” Rojo. The former PNPA CCF Cadet-In-Charge who
now leads a PNP detachment in the hinterlands of Davao Del Norte was blessed by
the visit and was encouraged by familiar faces that has blessed him during his
cadet days.
In the end of the day everybody was blessed and encouraged to join
other BOC volunteers at the upcoming 3rd Annual BOC Convention in
Tagaytay City this coming December 5-7, 2013.
